About
Colony-South Brooklyn Houses Incorporated, a nonprofit social services agency, offers humanitarian services to struggling families in the borough of Brooklyn, New York. We provide a number of social and educational programs for underprivileged children and their families. Our incorporated agency has a 501(c)(3) status, by-laws, and appropriate policies regarding harassment and conflict of interest.
The People We Help
Many of the families we help have experienced homelessness, unemployment, and other challenges. We encourage kids from these families reach their full potential through quality education and child care.
Empowering Individuals
Our organization is fully committed to helping a diverse set of clients. We empower them, help them take charge of their lives, and assist them in building a stable future for their families. In particular, we help the less fortunate climb the ladder from depending on welfare programs to being able to do productive work.
The Board
The Board meets every month except in July and August. Members hold regular meetings to improve our organization's programs. Our Executive Director reports directly to The Board. Each of our programs has its own Director with experienced personnel.
Our Staff
Our bookkeeping staff is supervised by the agency's Fiscal Officer. We are audited annually by an outside CPA firm and our agency always receives a positive opinion. Proper fiscal records are maintained, and all tax filings are done in a timely manner.
